In Bolivia protesting miners were taken hostage by fifty policemen

The Bolivian miners, protesting against a new law on cooperatives, took hostage the police. This was announced by the Ministry of internal Affairs of the South American country, reports TASS.

«The Ministry condemns the acts of violence by members of the mining cooperatives, which attacked and took hostage the police tried to clear the way for the movement of citizens», — stated in the message of the security forces.

The Ministry did not specify the number of victims and hold the power of the police.

At the same time, the head of the Federation of mining cooperatives, albino Garcia said the Agency Agencia de Noticias Fides that the hostages are 47 police officers. They promise to release only after the police release the detained miners 86.

The collision occurred in the town of Mantanani in the Department of La Paz. Riots also ended the protests in Cochabamba Department, the interior Ministry reports four injured police officers.

We will note, in February in El Alto, a suburb of the capital of Bolivia — protesters broke into city hall and set it on fire. The result from suffocation killed six employees of the municipality, 10 people were hospitalized. The rally was organized by supporters of the Socialist party of President Evo Morales.
