After two months in Ukraine will start production of a new generation of minesweeper 3D. This was reported by the acting head of Mission of Ukraine to NATO Yehor Idol in an interview with UNIAN.
«We are now at the stage of coordination of this project with allies, with the relevant NATO Committee. We hope that somewhere a couple of months will be able to speak about the beginning of practical phase of project (a joint Ukrainian-Norwegian project worth 450 million euros),» said God.
The Ukrainian diplomat convinced that «all the help in the field of research and development (research and development) which we ask and receive from NATO, should be aimed at developing national capabilities».
«That is, not just to get something or to buy from someone, and create their own power that will enable us to provide itself with adequate means in strategic perspective,» he said.
According to the acting head of mission, the Ukrainian side wants to «bring on a level concrete agreements» in the framework of the NATO summit in Warsaw, the issue of demining of the territories.
«The challenges we faced and which we have to solve, requires substantive interaction with NATO in this direction. It will be a whole spectrum of interactions, ranging from logistical support, to Advisory, staff training and so forth,» said God.
Recall that in September 2015, Idol reported on the implementation of Ukrainian-Norwegian project on development of the new 3D mine detector, which will then be used by the specialists of the State service for emergency situations and the Ministry of defense.
God said that today there are different variations of this detector, but there’s «job is to make the most sensitive and accurate, which will allow pyrotechnics without touching the object, to clearly understand what its form, to millimeters».
«As experts say, sometimes a millimeter is critical from the point of view of the life and health of pyrotechnics. This development will be implemented in Ukraine with the assistance of the Norwegian specialists», — said the acting head of the mission.
Recall, the Verkhovna Rada on 4 February adopted a Law «On ratification of the Agreement between the government of Ukraine and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization status of the Representation of NATO in Ukraine». The agreement was signed on 22 September 2015 in Kiev.
In April, Ukraine will begin to produce mine detectors of the new generation 3D 07.02.2016
