IMF sees «significant risks» in the budget of Ukraine to 2018 – Reuters

The international monetary Fund (IMF) sees the budget of Ukraine to 2018 «significant risks» in the revenue part and the expenditure. This is with reference to the representatives of the Fund according to Reuters.

In the IMF agree with the deficit of the Ukrainian state budget by 2.5%.

It is noted that the persistence parameters of the budget in accordance with the recommendations of the IMF is one of the conditions for Ukraine’s financial aid of $17.5 billion.

The payment of the next tranche, the Fund postponed due to «a little bit of progress in the promised reforms.»

The Agency expects that the list of requirements for receiving the IMF tranche will be added «any budget for next year.»

On 7 December, the Ukrainian Parliament adopted the state budget for 2018. Income is provided at the 913,6137 billion UAH, expenses – 988,6343 billion. From 1 January next year the living wage will be 1700 UAH, from 1 July – 1777 UAH, from December 1 – UAH 1853. The document was developed, based on a forecast inflation rate of 9% and GDP growth of 3%. The bill laid hryvnia exchange rate to 29.3 UAH/$.

The latest Memorandum of cooperation between Ukraine and the IMF signed in March 2015, within four years, the Fund needs to provide Ukraine with $17.5 billion In the framework of this programme the Ukrainian government has already received four tranches totaling $8.7 billion.

In may 2017, the IMF said that for the completion of the revision of the program expect that the Ukrainian authorities ensure that parliamentary support land and pension reforms, anti-corruption bills and the intensification of the privatization process.

On 14 October, Finance Minister Alexander danyluk said that the «realistic» estimates the likelihood of the receipt of the next tranche before the end of 2017, but on October 26 the national Bank of Ukraine said that they expect receipt of funds no earlier than the first quarter of 2018.
