«I have a right». Poroshenko announced the start of the program to provide free legal advice

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed a decree «On declaring in Ukraine to 2018 year of implementation pervoprestolnogo project «I have right», the press service of the head of state.

The decree will facilitate the formation of legal culture and consciousness in the society, increase of level of knowledge of citizens about the mechanisms of protection of their rights.

The initiative was discussed at a meeting of the National Council of reforms.

During the discussion Poroshenko proposed to create a program «I am entitled».

«And that is not just free legal assistance in courts, which is now. And this is free legal advice that will be entitled to the least protected layers of the population», – said Poroshenko.

According to him, the programme will enhance the level of protection of the constitutional rights and freedoms of citizens.

The project plan must be approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

«The government must ensure the informing of citizens guaranteed them by the Constitution and laws rights in the respective areas through the media, through the introduction of telephone hotlines, meetings with citizens at the place of residence, production of information materials,» – said in the message.

Local authorities should also facilitate the project by conducting appropriate outreach.

«In particular, on regional TV channels should be created programs focused on increasing the level of legal culture and legal consciousness of citizens», – said the press service.
