Hungarian prosecutors accused the Deputy of European Parliament from the Hungarian far-right party «Jobbik» Bela Kovacs espionage in favor of Russia, writes Reuters.

The policy is suspected of collecting information on the work of the EU institutions in the interests of the Russian special services. The investigation indicates that the Deputy often met with Russian diplomats and visited Moscow. Kovacs ties with foreign intelligence services denied.

Kovacs is one of the leaders of the party «Jobbik». In March 2014, he was an observer at the feykovy «referendum» organized by Russia in the occupied Ukrainian Crimea.

In October 2015, the European Parliament temporarily deprived Kovacs parliamentary immunity in connection with suspicions in espionage in favor of Russia. The legal Committee of the European Parliament considered the request behind closed doors more than a year.

Kovacs is a member of the European Parliament since 2010, and his term of office as an MEP expires in 2019.
