The American Union of civil liberties (ACLU) filed a lawsuit against the President of the United States of Donald trump in connection with the decree banning transgender people to serve in the army. It is reported The Hill.
The lawsuit was filed in Maryland on behalf of six soldiers.
As reported in human rights organizations, his ban trump violated the 5th amendment to the Constitution on equal access to justice.
The President’s claim that the employment of persons who changed sex, would entail additional costs to health care, is not well documented, according to the ACLU.
According to the compilers of the claim, this justification for the ban has surprised even the Ministry of defense.
1 July 2016 the open transgenders are allowed to serve in the army. It was expected that the new rules will come into force on 1 July 2017, but in June the Minister of defence of the USA James Mattis for six months delayed the recruitment of transgender people.
25 August 2017 trump has signed an Executive order restoring the ban on use of troops for open transgender.
