Groysman predicts economic growth of 3% in 2018

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on 18 October presented the report of the government for the third quarter of 2017, the press service of the Cabinet.

According to Groisman, the challenge now is to accelerate economic growth, create a favorable investment climate, to continue the development of the industry.

«Presenting the results of work of the government, Volodymyr Groysman drew attention to the fact that the government pledged economic growth next year at 3% is the growth of output by 400 billion, tens of thousands of new jobs and the growth of the wage Fund of 180 billion UAH», – is told in the message.

The Prime Minister said, «numbers – not the limit can be increased subject to the implementation of reforms and changes.»

Among the priorities of the Cabinet in 2018, economic growth, security and defence, fight against corruption, investments in human capital.

On September 21 the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that Ukraine’s economy has been growing for six consecutive quarters.

According to state statistics, from April to June of 2017, real gross domestic product (GDP) of Ukraine grew by 2.4% compared to the same period in 2016.

On June 6 the world Bank improved the forecast of GDP growth in Ukraine to 2018, from 3% to 3.5%. The Bank has kept the GDP growth forecast for the current year at 2%.

According to the forecast of international rating Agency Fitch, in 2018, the GDP growth may reach 3% due to improved consumer demand and investment.
