Groysman is not supported Yatsenyuk’s resignation, because the speaker must be neutral

Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Groysman claims that had no right to vote for the resignation of the government of Arseniy Yatsenyukas the speaker of the Parliament should take a neutral stance.

He said this on the Rada TV channel on Friday 19 February.

He said that in Parliament «are very clear and understandable division of opinion» – some believe the positive work of the Cabinet, the other – negative.

«Despite my personal position, I as Chairman of Parliament had no moral right to act in such a way as to erase the possibility of finding a solution or finding compromises in the Ukrainian Parliament», – he said.

Groysman added that he needs to find a solution between different political forces, to sit with them at the negotiating table, in order to moderate joint plan of action.

Answering the question about why he hadn’t spent the pre-signal the vote, he said that such a vote is held when there are few members. In the same case, according to him, there were many deputies and so there was no need.

Recall, 16 January the Verkhovna Rada listened to the report of the Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk on the government’s work in 2015, dismissed him, acknowledging that the work is not satisfactory, but during the vote of no confidence in the government has gained only 194 votes with the required 226. A new vote on this issue is possible only at the next session, which will begin in September.
