Prime Minister of Ukraine Vladimir Groisman said that the government will allocate funds for the transfer of the remains of Ukrainian writer Oleksandr Oles from Czech Republic to Kiev.
He said this on his page in Facebook.
«The dust of Alexander Oles, as well as hundreds of other prominent Ukrainians, should be buried in their native land with the consent of his relatives,» he said.
The Prime Minister stressed that the situation with the Oles once again raised the issue of creating the Ukrainian national Pantheon in the capital of Ukraine.
«Now the foreign Ministry is taking all necessary measures for the speedy solution of this question in the Czech Republic. In turn, the government will allocate all necessary funds to transport the remains of one of the most outstanding Ukrainian poets in Kiev», — added the Prime Minister.
Groisman also said that the Ministry of culture of Ukraine will create a special interdepartmental Commission that will deal with the issue of reburial of prominent Ukrainians.

The Minister of culture of Ukraine Yevhen nischuk said he was ready to personally accompany the return of the ashes of poet Alexander Oles from Czech Republic to Ukraine.
«Ready to personally go to the Czech Republic to accompany the return of the ashes of Alexander Oles Home», — the Minister wrote on his page on the social network Facebook.
Nyshchuk noted that doing everything possible to ensure that Olesya ashes were reburied with honor and respect. «Now the situation depends on the will of the descendants of the poet and from our diplomats. But I am convinced that the eternal peace of our great poet must find in Ukraine», — he wrote.
We will remind, remains of the writer, is buried in the Czech Republic, forcibly exhumed and his grave at the olšany cemetery in Prague going to bury another person.
The President of Ukraine instructed the foreign Ministry to urgently intervene in the situation with the forced exhumation of the remains of Olesya in the Czech Republic. In turn, Ukraine’s foreign Ministry announced that the remains of Oles and his wife moved to the Depository of the cemetery until the decision of the relatives about the place of their final disposal.
Oles died in 1944. According to Czech law, after the funeral, the relatives or friends of the deceased should pay rent for a place in the cemetery in the amount of 20 thousand CZK for 10 years (approximately 20 thousand). According to representatives of the Ukrainian community, until recently, the rent for the grave Olesya pay, on its own initiative, a citizen of the Czech Republic and a native of Ukraine Vladimir Mikhaylishin. Recently, however, Myhaylishyn died, and now his son wants to bury his father in the grave Olesya. Representatives of the Ukrainian Diaspora reported that the reburial was planned for 12.00 noon on 3 January. The writer’s grave is already dug.
