Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman on 8 June discussed with ambassadors of the Visegrad countries the direction of deepening cooperation between the countries and plans of the government regarding reforms in Ukraine.
The meeting was attended by Ambassador extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland in Ukraine Henryk Litvin, the charge d’affaires of the Slovak Republic in Ukraine Heinrich Sasai, chrezvychainyi and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Hungary in Ukraine Erno Keskeny and Ambassador extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic in Ukraine Ivan Pocuch, according to Government portal.
Groisman said that the government given to the course of reforms, and recalled that recently, the Cabinet approved a Plan of priority actions before the end of 2016, which defines priorities of its activities.
«In particular, the government will focus efforts on achieving macroeconomic stability and creating conditions for stable economic growth, contribute to improving the business climate, judicial reform, combating corruption and improving governance quality. Also among the important functions of government — public service reform, deregulation, privatization and public tender the appointment of the management of state enterprises. Soon-to-be completed reorganization of regulatory bodies and will launch the electronic Declaration of officials», — stated in the message.
One of the key reforms, over which the Cabinet is the reform of the Customs service of Ukraine, said Groisman. In this context, he called for exchange of information on the circulation of goods between the customs authorities of the countries.
«There are schemes gray smuggling, which are harmful both for us and for you,» he said.
The Prime Minister reminded that before the changes were made to the Constitution of Ukraine related to justice and welcomed the decision of the Parliament, which «allows you to update the system and housing judges».
Also among the government’s priorities — ratification of the Agreement on Association of Ukraine with the European Union, European integration of the country and the introduction of a visa-free regime with the EU.
The Prime Minister stressed that Ukraine has fulfilled all obligations stipulated by the action Plan for liberalization of EU visa regime for Ukraine, and expects a positive decision of the European Union.
Groisman also thanked the ambassadors of the Visegrad group for the support for liberalization of EU visa regime for Ukraine.
Interlocutors, among other things, also discussed the issues of attracting investments, directions of further cooperation and continuation of the policy of sanctions against the Russian Federation.
The ambassadors of the Visegrad group, thanked the Prime Minister for the initiative of the meeting. The parties have assured support of Ukraine on the path of reform and devotion to the continuation of the policy of sanctions against the Russian Federation. The Ambassador of Hungary Erno Keskeny separately expressed his country’s readiness to continue to help in the rehabilitation of seriously wounded soldiers ATO.
