GPU finished pre-judicial investigation concerning ex-Minister of energy stavytsky

The Prosecutor General’s office of Ukraine (PGO) has completed a pre-trial investigation against the former Minister of energy and coal industry of Ukraine Eduard Stavisky, reported on the Agency’s website.

He is suspected of committing crimes under part 5 St. 191 (misappropriation, embezzlement of property or taking to them by abuse of official position), part 1 St. 366 (forgery) and part 3 St. 358 (forgery, seals, stamps and forms, sale or use of forged documents, seals, stamps) of the Criminal code of Ukraine.

To familiarize with the materials of the pretrial investigation, Stavisky or his defenders need to arrive at the GPU on the morning of 18 January, the report said.

Stavitsky served as Minister of energy of Ukraine from December 2012 to February 2014.

In March 2014, in his apartment in Kiev was searched, during which discovered 42 kg of gold and almost $5 million in cash.

In the summer of 2015 Stavitsky said that he lives in Israel. May 6, 2016, the TV channel «112 Ukraine» during a video from Israel he showed an Israeli passport in the name Nathan Rosenberg.

In April 2016, Interpol declared in the international search. In the same month, the Prosecutor General asked the Ministry of justice of Israel to give Stavisky message of suspicion.

3 may 2017 Interpol took Stavisky with the international investigation.
