Google launches the project, which will help to verify news for accuracy

Google with support from Facebook is launching a project that will help to check the news on the reliability reports TechCrunch.

Platform called CrossCheck, which is aimed at the identification of false news, will launch in France on 27 February and it will run during the presidential election.

The purpose of CrossCheck is the development of tools to combat verification of the news that appear online. Media and it companies will combine their efforts to all the rumors, fake information and publications were promptly debunked and removed from the Internet.

The contribution of Facebook will include support of the platform using the «special tools and efforts in the field of information literacy.» In particular, will be ensured access tool called CrowdTangle for early detection and monitoring of news and messages relevant to the election.

Earlier, the Ministry of information policy of Ukraine asked the administration to enter Facebook antigenemia mechanisms in the Ukrainian segment of the social network.
