Germany will provide €2 million to help the residents of Donbass in 2018-2019

The German government will provide €2 million for the implementation of programs of assistance to residents of Donetsk and Lugansk regions in 2018 and 2019. This was reported by the press service of the Embassy of Germany in Ukraine.

Another €200 million will allocate the German Union rabochih the Samaritans, which implements aid projects in Ukraine.

«A new phase of the project will begin in March 2018 and will be held in the communities of Luhansk and Donetsk regions. It will facilitate the provision of food and hygiene items for those who are particularly affected by the conflict, primarily the older people,» the message reads.

In future it is planned to provide building materials and fuel to the residents of Donbas to prepare for the winter period in 2018.

The Embassy notes that over the past few years the German government has allocated €4.5 million for humanitarian activities rabochih Union of Samaritans in Ukraine.

The armed conflict in Eastern Ukraine began in April 2014. Fighting underway between the Armed forces of Ukraine and Pro-Russian rebels who control part of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
