Irish low-cost airline Ryanair wants to create in Ukraine a data center and employ 250 Ukrainian IT-specialists, said CEO Michael O’leary in an interview for the project of CTS.

«Our airline is a tremendous need for data storage and processing. Every day they are becoming more and we need competent resources to do so. To experience a data center in Wroclaw we know the Ukrainians have such competence. There are 250 employees more than 50% – IT-specialists from Ukraine. We believe that it would be much more efficient to create another data center our company in Ukraine and then to employ another 250 Ukrainian specialists. You really have a very competent staff. We are already working on it,» he said.

According to O’leary, the company is also looking to invest in the creation in Ukraine of the center of maintenance of aircraft.

«Our fleet is constantly growing, and this means that it needs more capacity to perform its maintenance. We have several bases, including in Wroclaw, Poland and Lithuanian Kaunas. There we have a lot of Ukrainian technicians and engineers, we hear good reviews about them. Ukraine has a good school of training of aviation personnel. We need them, and I think it would be logical to use the competence of local specialists and the Ukrainian potential», – said the CEO of Ryanair.

March 22 O’leary has signed contracts with General Directors of the airport Borispol Pavel Ryabikin and Lviv airport Tatiana Romanov. The first flights scheduled for October 2018. Ryanair will fly to 10 destinations from Kiev and five from the city.

Ryanair were going to enter the Ukrainian market in 2017, the scheduled flights from Kiev and Lviv. In July Ryabikin first reported on the contract with the airline and then said that the proposed Irish airline conditions unfavorable for the airport and may lead to losses.

10 July 2017 Ryanair said that it cancels flights to Ukraine because of the failure to Boryspil airport agreements.
