FSB detained for divulging state secrets of the General Director of Russian enterprises associated with the Siemens – media

General Director of the Russian company «Power machines» Roman Filippov detained in St.-Petersburg employees of the Federal security service of the Russian Federation. This was reported by «Fontanka» with reference to unnamed sources.

It is noted that the reason «for the interest of law enforcement agencies to a top Manager» was suspected of divulging state secrets.

Information about Filippov’s arrest came against the backdrop of the scandal around the supply of turbines by Siemens in the occupied Russian Crimea.

Turbine SGT5-2000E produced by the St. Petersburg company «Siemens Gas Turbine Technology» (STGT) is a joint venture of Siemens and OJSC Power machines.

German and Russian companies have signed an agreement on the creation of STGT in 2011. 65% of the company owned by Siemens, 35% – «Power machines».

On 6 July, Siemens said that he had not supplied the turbines in the Crimea, and the next day announced the establishment of a working group that will investigate the incident.

July 10 in Siemens noted that two of the four delivered to Russia of gas turbines were moved to the Crimea against the will of the manufacturer.

July 11, Siemens filed claims in the case of the supply of gas turbines in the annexed Crimea.

July 12, Reuters reported on the delivery to Crimea of two turbines, similar to those produced by Siemens. In the German group denied this information.

Russia is building two power plants with a total capacity of 940 MW in the annexed Crimea, which is to strengthen the independence of the Peninsula. To enter one of them into operation was scheduled for late 2017.

However, construction was suspended due to the fact that Russia alone does not produce gas turbines of high power. It was reported that Moscow was negotiating the contract for the supply of the Crimea gas turbine from Iran.
