Former Secretary General of FIFA Walke was suspended from football for 12 years. And fined

The ethics Committee of the International Federation of football associations (FIFA) decided to suspend the former Secretary General of the organization Jerome Walke in 12 years from any activity related to football.

On Friday 12 February, the press service of FIFA, reports «Interfax-Ukraine».

The ban applies to all football activity, including administrative, sporting and other national and international level. The ban came into force immediately.

Walke also fined 100 thousand Swiss francs.

Walke is suspected of involvement in illegal sale of tickets for the matches of the 2014 world Cup in Brazil, receiving expensive gifts, breach of confidentiality, refusal to cooperate with the investigation and abuse of office.

According to the American investigators, in 2008, Walke sent over 10 million. with FIFA accounts to the accounts of the football Confederation of North and Central America and the Caribbean (CONCACAF) as a bribe for voting in favor of the application of South Africa in the elections of the host country of the 2010 FIFA world Cup.

7 September 2015 Walke was relieved of their duties, from October 8 — suspended from football activities for 90 days. The period of his suspension ended on 5 January 2016. On January 6th the Frenchman was suspended for another 45 days. On 7 January the adjudicatory chamber of the ethics Committee FIFA has opened a case against him.

Earlier the ethics Committee of FIFA recommended Walke suspended from football for nine years.
