Foreign owner Poltava petroleum company, Ukraine has sued 12 million dollars

The British company JKX Oil&Gas, which owns Poltava petroleum company, has sued Ukraine in the international arbitration court of 12 million dollars.

«The court found that the government of Ukraine violated part of the commitments undertaken in the framework of the bilateral investment Treaty between the British government and the government of Ukraine, and awarded damages in the amount of about $ 12 million», — reported on its website.

We will remind, two years ago, JKX Oil&Gas has filed a lawsuit in the Stockholm arbitration court, challenging a dramatic increase in rent on gas production. The company intended to sue Ukraine $ 180 million.

Major shareholders JKX Oil&Gas structures Igor Kolomoisky and Gennady Bogolyubov (which owns 27.5 per cent of JKX, however, does not control the company), Alexander Zhukov (the owner of 11.45%). In addition, the Russian Proxima Capital Group owns of 19.92% stake in JKX.

Poltava petroleum company is one of the largest private producers of oil and gas in Ukraine. It has licenses to develop several gas fields in the Poltava region.
