Chubarov: the UN resolution will help in the courts against Russia and sanctions

The UN resolution on human rights in Crimea will be another tool for Ukrainians to the issue of extending sanctions against Russia and expansion of these sanctions. This opinion was expressed by the head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, MP from the faction of the BPP Refat Chubarov comments in the «UKRINFORM».

«The resolution will give us strength in order to consistently defend the extension of sanctions, especially on the European markets, the Resolution will allow us to try to demand from specialized international organizations, in particular UN and OSCE on the direction of the Crimean territory, temporarily occupied by Russia, the monitoring mission,» he said.

«We can insist on other sanctions against Russia, including in international courts,» – said Chubarov.

The MP stressed that the UN Resolution is extremely important now, given the results of the elections in Moldova, Bulgaria and the USA, as confirms the correctness of the occupied Ukraine’s position in the struggle with Russia for the restoration of its territorial integrity.

Chubarov’s a shame that the Resolution is not voted ex-USSR countries — Belarus, Armenia, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. In his opinion, this UN document for the first time calls the Russian state-occupier, Crimea — temporarily occupied territory that belongs to Ukraine.

«The package of other decisions, and act, which are implemented, this Resolution is now the perfect place because secured at the international level through the UN document that the terminology which categorically and very rapidly always denies Russia; that Russia is a country that has occupied foreign territory, and this territory is called the temporarily occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea and city of Sevastopol (Ukraine)», – said Chubarov.

«This is strong language in international diplomacy,» he added.
