For ATO participants and volunteers, the President has established special awards

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed decrees, which established the insignia «For participating in anti-terrorist operations» and «For humanitarian involvement in the anti-terrorist operation».

About it reported in a press-service of the head of state.

According to the decrees, the insignia are established for the purpose of awarding worthy individuals for the defence of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine during the ATO in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts and reward individuals, enterprises, institutions and organizations that were involved or voluntarily provided the antiterrorist operation, carried out volunteer activities, being directly in the area of the ATO.

As reported earlier today, the President signed a decree «On awarding state awards of Ukraine» Ukrainian Armed forces servicemen and employees of the Ministry of internal Affairs – participants of the antiterrorist operation in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions.

Awarded 200 people, including 195 Ukrainian servicemen and 5 of the National police of Ukraine. Among them are servicemen who showed courage and invincibility of the spirit in fights on the Debaltsevsky base, and during the defense of Donetsk airport in January-February 2015.
