The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine appointed state social assistance to children under the age of 18 years (for students up to 23) in case of death of one of the parents who has not acquired the right to pension, in the amount of one subsistence minimum for the disabled persons.
The relevant law No. 4668 on the meeting on Tuesday was supported by 231 MPs, reports «Interfax-Ukraine».
The amount of support is determined, regardless of family income.
In the event of death of one of the parents will be entitled to receive only one type of public assistance by choice. However, the law provides opportunities for the disabled child at the same time assistance with disability and assistance in connection with the loss of a breadwinner.
The document notes that the implementation of the provisions of the law will lead to additional expenditures from the state Budget in the amount of about 25.1 million UAH. in the month since the law will be extended to 22.1 thousand families who lost a breadwinner and not receiving a pension, including 1.3 million families with children with disabilities.
The need for the adoption of the law due to the fact that, under current legislation, pensions in connection with loss of a breadwinner is assigned if the survivor at the date of death of insurance, which depends on age. In the absence of the necessary insurance, their children are entitled to a pension do not receive and they shall be appointed as provided by the law «On state assistance to families with children» assistance in the amount of the difference between 100% of the subsistence minimum per child and the average total family income in the calculation for the last six months. We will remind, in the autumn of 2015 Verkhvona Rada provided to the wounded volunteers and volunteers eligible for cash assistance in the amount of 250 times the minimum subsistence level established by law for able-bodied persons (304 500 UAH.) — in case of establishment of disability group I; 200 times the minimum subsistence level — in case of establishment of disability group II; 150 times the minimum subsistence level — in case of disability group III.
