FIDE named the first opponents of the Ukrainian chess players in the 2017 world Championships in Tehran

The international Federation of chess (FIDE) has published the pairings for the first round of the women’s world championship to be held from February 10 to March 5 in Tehran (Iran).

Among the 64 participants of the competition for the world crown will fight 5 representatives of Ukraine, among which this time will not ex-world champion Mariya Muzychuk, reports «UKRINFORM».

The current world champion in blitz and rapid chess championship , Anna Muzychuk, as in the world Cup 2015 in Sochi (Russia), in the first round will meet with Misaal Amina from Algeria. Ex-world champion Anna Ushenina will face Anastasia Zezulkina from Belarus, Natalia Zhukova — Georgian Nino Khurtsidze, Inna Gaponenko , Russian woman Ekaterina Kovalevskaya, Natalia Buchs — Hungarian chess player of Vietnamese origin Hoang Thanh Chung.

The world championship will be held according to the knockout system. In all rounds except the final, the two rivals will play two classic games. In case of a tie played the tie-break. In the final match will be played four classic party.

Recall, the current world champion is Chinese HOU Yifan, who took the crown from Maria Muzychuk in March 2016 in Lviv.
