Competing with each other in public, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and Prime Minister Vladimir Groisman only weaken each other. This opinion to the edition «GORDON» was expressed by the political scientist, the head of the Board of the Center for applied political studies «Penta» Volodymyr Fesenko, commenting on the decision of the Cabinet to participate in the next parliamentary elections.
«This exchange of horror stories between the presidential and Prime Minister’s teams. The same applies to rumors about early elections. I think this is the wrong game on both sides. Competing with each other in public, they weaken each other. And if, God forbid, Groisman decides to participate in presidential elections, both sides lose. I don’t know who started it. In all likelihood, aware of only the nearest environment of the Prime Minister and the President. There is a risk that both parties a little sparkle. And in the case of early parliamentary elections will lose Groisman, as probably will lose the post of Prime Minister. But if you want to remove it from this post, it can be done without elections. It would be a desire,» – said Fesenko.
According to him, participation of the Ukrainian presidential elections will be key to winning them Batkivshchyna party leader Yulia Tymoshenko.
«At the same time, you need to understand that holding early parliamentary elections before the presidential – it is almost suicidal for Poroshenko. Indeed, in this case his chances of winning dramatically decrease. I think more than half. Therefore, I believe that the parliamentary elections will be held «on schedule.» But if Groysman decide to participate in the presidential elections, he himself will not win, and Poroshenko to win will not. In this case, Tymoshenko will win. And then, too, there are problems – a Prime Minister he will not» – said the analyst.
In his opinion, Groisman will form your team to participate in the parliamentary elections, starting from who will be President of the country.
«There is no doubt that Groisman will participate in the next parliamentary elections, I have not. At least, he needs to maintain an independent political perspective. Who Groysman will go to the polls, will depend on who becomes President. If the head of state will remain Poroshenko, most likely, they will create a party project. Including with representatives of the popular front. If Poroshenko loses the election, Groisman may lead a private political project. The second option – the establishment of a joint project with the current members of the popular front and supporters of the President,» concluded Fesenko.
According to the Constitution of Ukraine, elections are conducted on the last Sunday of October of the fifth year of powers of the Parliament. Previous, extraordinary elections to the Verkhovna Rada took place in 2014.

Poroshenko said at the world economic forum in Davos 25 January 2017 that six months will decide whether to run for a second presidential term. «We still have more than a year before the election, the cycle will begin only in the fall,» he said.
