Ukraine was visited by the monitoring mission of the European Commission on monitoring of transit of natural gas to European consumers, which, among other things, he investigated the problem of the inappropriate level of pressure on the Russian border gas metering stations. «Gazprom continues to violate contractual pressure at the Russian stations Sudzha it recorded a sharp decrease of 9% from the norm. Despite this, the Ukraine transit performs the request and provides the necessary pressure on Western border», — informed the chief of Department on public relations and press relations of «Ukrtransgaz» Maxim Bilyavskiy.
It is noted that the monitoring mission considered a complete packet of information regarding the movement of natural gas through the Ukrainian gas transportation system, including explored the problem of poor pressure on the Russian border gas metering stations.
According to the results of the meeting the parties agreed on a plan of action in case of deterioration of the situation with the supply of natural gas, and also agreed on expanding the list of information which departs daily, PJSC «Ukrtransgaz» in the address of the European Commission, including data on the level of pressure at the points of entry and exit from the Ukrainian gas transportation system.
At the request of the monitoring mission of PJSC «Ukrtransgaz» provided access to all facilities of Ukrainian gas transport system.
However, the Russian side, which were invited for cooperation with the monitoring mission of the European Commission no information provided.
Recall that the operator of the Ukrainian gas transport system from October 2015 provides the European Commission with permanent online access to information on flows of natural gas and the level of reservation of capacity.
We will remind, in 2014, «Gazprom-Export» terminated the contract with «Ukrtransgaz» on the daily balancing of gas transit.
Earlier, Minister of energy and coal industry of Ukraine Igor Nasaliki declared that Ukraine will fulfill all its obligations on transit of Russian gas to Europe, despite the fact that Ukraine and Russia have not reached agreement on the so-called «winter package», which dealt with the transit, delivery terms and the price of gas and, despite the fact that the Economic court of Kiev passed the decision on forced collection of the Russian gas monopolist «Gazprom» penalty in the total amount of 171 billion UAH for violation of competition law.
