Estonia refused the journalists of the Agency «Russia today» accreditation to a meeting of foreign Ministers of the EU

Estonia has rejected a request for accreditation of employees of the Russian state information Agency «Russia today», which was supposed to cover the informal meeting of heads of ministries of foreign Affairs of the countries of the European Union in Tallinn on September 7-8.

This is stated on the official website of the platform of the Council of Europe in the protection of journalism and safety of journalists.

The report said that the Estonian presidency of the Council of the European Union has rejected three requests for accreditation from the Agency «Russia Today». The requests were filed by the correspondent from Brussels Vladimir Dobrovolsky and Moscow journalists by Maria Kiselyova and Anastasia Sidelnikova.

The Estonian authorities did not explain the reasons for the refusal. First Deputy chief editor of «Russia today» Sergey Kochetkov, said that the news Agency is faced with such limitations in the coverage of events at the highest level in the EU for the first time.

In may 2017 the Ukrainian border guards were not allowed in the country of photojournalist Agency «Russia today» Ramil Sitdikova, which was accredited to the «Eurovision 2017».
