Dzhemilev urged the world to strengthen sanctions against Russia until it withdraws from Crimea

The leader of the Crimean Tatar people and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Mustafa Dzhemilev (Kerimoglu) called to strengthen sanctions against Russia, imposed after the occupation of Crimea.

On this day, February 5, he told the Anadolu Agency.

«All countries must contribute in the Crimean settlement,» — said Dzhemilev.

According to him, the last time human rights defenders in Crimea are being persecuted, in particular questioning on the part of employees of the Russian secret services.

«The pressure of the invaders will grow. The only way to counter them is to liberate the land from occupation. I am often asked about how to help the Crimean Tatars. I say that the only way is through sanctions to force Russia to withdraw from Crimea,» — said Dzhemilev.

According to the Deputy, it is too early to talk about how to affect the decision of the Crimean problem, the change of leadership of the United States.

«It is difficult to predict the future actions of Russia. They can leave Crimea and tonight and through the week,» he added.

Earlier today, Vice-President Mike Pence stated that the question of cancellation of sanctions against Russia will depend on Moscow.
