Commissioner of the President on Affairs of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Dzhemilev believes that economic sanctions against Russia can lead to de-occupation of Crimea. He said this at a briefing on Monday, February 8, in Kiev, transfers «Interfax-Ukraine».

«I have no doubt that if sanctions are to continue, even at this level, then very soon we will see further disintegration of the Russian Federation», — said Dzhemilev.

«We have high expectations of economic sanctions,» he said, adding that the entire economy rests on the natural resources, the prices of which fell significantly.

The leader of the Crimean Tatar people also believed that according to various estimates, the process of de-occupation may take about a year and a half.

«Nobody can say how long it will last this agony of the Russian economy, but believe that no more than a year and a half and we will see the liberation of the occupied territories not only in Ukraine, but also Georgia, Transnistria», — said Dzhemilev.
