The Prosecutor of the state of Washington (USA) Bob Ferguson announced the filing of a lawsuit in Federal district court due to changes in migration policy, the Respondent in this case is the President of Donald trump. This was reported on the official website of the state’s attorney’s office.
The Prosecutor finds a violation of the Constitution trump the decree about the ban on entry to the United States citizens of seven countries with a predominantly Muslim population.
Ferguson is also going to require the temporary suspension of the decree.
«No one is above the law, even the President», — stated in the statement of the Prosecutor.
The Prosecutor says, that this migration violates a basic law guaranteeing equality and equal treatment to all religions, and violates the constitutional right to a fair trial and was contrary to Federal immigration law and citizenship.
In addition to trump, the defendant in this lawsuit will be senior officials of his administration and the Department of homeland security, which is subject to the border service.
Besides, several dozens of American diplomats criticized the President’s decree banning the entry into the United States to citizens of seven countries with a predominantly Muslim population, reports CNN.
Overall, diplomats say the new immigration policy of the United States not only helps to strengthen borders from terrorists, but also can cancel the already made attempts in this direction.
Migration policy trump also caused resentment among Democrats in the Senate. Minority leader Chuck Schumer also criticized the decree. According to him, the Democrats will initiate a vote to set aside the order.
