Detained near the building of FSB of the Russian Federation Alekhine appointed community service

The magistrate judge in the Meshchansky district of Moscow has appointed 40 hours of compulsory work fromcastnia of the Russian punk band Pussy Riot Maria Alyokhina, arrested on 20 December at the building of the Federal security service of Russia on Lubyanka square, reports «Interfax».

She was found guilty in committing offenses under part 6.1 of article 20.2 (participation in an unauthorized Assembly, rally, demonstration, procession or picketing, which caused interference with the functioning of critical infrastructure, the movement of pedestrians and (or) vehicles or access of citizens to residential premises or transport or social infrastructure) of the Code of administrative violations.

Alekhine advocate Oleg Eliseev said in court that the actions of his client are not subject to this article, as the purpose of the action was not picketing or creating traffic problems.

The activist pleaded not guilty. She said the action by pickets is not considered.

According to Pussy Riot, she would appeal the court’s decision.

On 20 December, the Day of worker of security agencies, Alekhine came to the FSB with a banner «happy birthday, butchers». Her and the photographer Andrey Zolotov and Denis Bochkarev detained.

«Rain» reported that Zolotov was released after police brought an editorial assignment in which it was said that the photographer was covering a protest on Lubyanka square as a journalist of the «Open Russia».

Producer Maria muskevich wrote today in Facebook that I was prescribed 60 hours of forced labor. She said that this decision is also appealed.
