Deputy Prime Minister Dvorkovich: Athletes should go to the Olympics. We know they will represent Russia

Vice Prime Minister of Russia Arkady Dvorkovich said that the Russian athletes have to go to the Olympics in 2018 in Pyeongchang in neutral status. He said this on the forum of the Moscow stock exchange in London, reports «Interfax».

According to him, the Russians at the Olympics will be in the form of white, red and blue colors, «and in any case we know that they will represent Russia».

On 5 December, the international Olympic Committee because of the systematic anti-doping rule violations barred from participating in the Olympics in 2018, the national Olympic Committee of the Russian Federation.

At the same time to participate in the Games will allow for some of the Russian athletes who fulfill the qualification standards and pass a special doping tests. They will compete under the Olympic flag as «Olympic athletes of Russia». In case of a victory of the representative of the Russian Federation in his honor will be performed the Olympic anthem. Athletes from Russia were forbidden to apply a form of national paraphernalia.

The Executive Committee the IOC also disqualified for life from any involvement in the Olympics the former Minister of sports of Russia Vitaly Mutko, today occupying the post of Deputy Prime Minister, and his former Deputy Yury Nagornykh.

Russian President Vladimir Putin assured that the authorities will not interfere with the sending of Russian athletes at the Olympics in neutral status.
