Danyluk: someday, perhaps, we will reach a deficit-free pension system, but it’s definitely not a term of five years

Over the next five years, the deficit of the Pension Fund (PF) will not disappear, said Finance Minister Alexander danyluk in an interview ZN.UA.

«We fix a shortage in absolute numbers. Of course, the budget will grow, and the deficit in absolute terms – no. Therefore, in the interest the deficit will decrease. Someday, perhaps, we will reach a deficit-free pension system, but it’s definitely not a term of five years,» he said.

According to danyluk, now we need to reduce the deficit of the Pension Fund to a minimum to stabilize public pension system.

«Sometime in the future, maybe he will be balanced,» – said the Minister.

In July 2017, the Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman said that the Pension Fund deficit is 141 billion. He said that pension reform will hold at the expense of additional revenues to the Fund.

In the draft budget for the year 2018, the Cabinet proposes to allocate to the Pension Fund the same amount as in 2017 141 billion UAH.
