Custody in Russia is more than 5 thousand of Ukrainians – Lutkovska

In detention in the Russian Federation remains more than 5 thousand of Ukrainian citizens. About it in interview to the channel «112 Ukraine», said Parliament Commissioner for human rights Valeria Lutkovska.

According to Lutkovska, it contacts with the Russian Ombudsman Tatiana Moskalkova.

«We have today more than 5 thousand of Ukrainians detained in Russia. This is the main theme of our cooperation. Tatiana sometimes appeals to me about those citizens who are in custody on the territory of Ukraine», – said Lutkovska.

The sister of the convicted in Russia Ukrainian Director Oleg Sentsov Natalia Kaplan reported on 13 November 2017, the number of prisoners in the Russian Ukrainians «came to 60».

On December 28 President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that he had instructed to resume negotiations with Russia on the release of Ukrainian political prisoners.

The speaker of the Kremlin, Dmitry Peskov, December 28, said that prisoners in Russia, the Ukrainians can not be exchanged in the framework of the Minsk agreements.
