Ukrainian businessman and philanthropist Victor Pinchuk its proposals set out in the newspaper the Wall Street Journal, invites Ukrainians to surrender and the murder of its own future, is convinced people’s Deputy of Ukraine of the faction «Block of Petro Poroshenko», the Chairman of the Majlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov.
«The fact that Viktor Pinchuk sheepishly calls a «painful compromise» is actually inviting us, Ukraine and Ukrainians, including Crimea and the Crimean Tatars, to surrender. And surrender is total, self-defeating, since Pinchuk can not understand that after delivery of the Crimea and Donbas, by refusing to join the EU and NATO, Ukraine will simply cease to exist as an independent state,» wrote Chubarov on his page on the social network Facebook on Friday the 30th of December.
He noted that Pinchuk provides «us with their hands» to do what «failed enemies to achieve a century — to destroy the Ukrainian national identity and kill his faith in his derjavnost».
As reported in an article for the Wall Street Journal, Pinchuk invited the authorities and citizens of Ukraine to make a number of «painful compromises» for the conflict with Russia. Among the voiced initiatives, in particular, a temporary exception from the stated goals of the country’s membership in the EU, to abandon the intention to join NATO in the short and medium term and to agree to neutrality. He also insists on the position that «Crimea should not be an obstacle to decisions that would put an end to the war in the East on an equitable basis», while maintaining the position that the Crimea is part of Ukraine, and it needs to be returned.
Recall, December 2, 2014, during a meeting along the lines of «Ukraine — NATO» in Brussels, the Ukrainian government has notified the representatives of the Alliance that Kiev refuses policy of non-alignment.
On 23 December of the same year Parliament abolished the non-aligned status of the country.
According to the polls, NATO membership as at the beginning of July, was supported by 78% of Ukrainians.
The Ukrainian government plans in 2017 to renew the program of informing society about NATO. About it on October 25 during a meeting with representatives of the Ukrainian community in Warsaw was announced by the Vice Prime Minister on European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine Ivanna klympush-Tsintsadze.
