China has put into orbit 21 navigation satellite

China Monday, February 1, launched the 21st satellite navigation system Beidou from Baikonur Xichang with the help of the carrier rocket «Changzheng-3B».

«On Monday from Baikonur Xichang (Sichuan province, southwest China) with the help of the carrier rocket «Changzheng-3B» was launched on the 21st of the Chinese satellite navigation system Beidou. The spacecraft reach its target orbit,» — said in the message.

This is the fifth satellite of the new generation of «Beidou navigation». The satellite was designed and constructed by the Shanghai engineering center for microsatellites together with Chinese electronic company of science and technology. The developer of the launch vehicle «Changzheng-3B» is the Chinese research Institute of space technology.

Recall that in 2012 Chinese satellite navigation system Beidou officially started to provide services of a regional nature. It is expected that in 2018 the satellite navigation system Beidou will be available in the countries located along the economic belt of the silk road and Maritime silk road, and by 2020 — already on the planet.
