Bureaucracy hinders the CEC to declare the elections to the Parliament in 3 districts

The Central election Commission of Ukraine has not yet received the decision on termination of powers of people’s deputies Boris Filatov and Vladyslav Atroshenko, who were elected mayors of Dnepropetrovsk and Chernigov, respectively, and had not received legal confirmation of the death of MP Ihor Yeremeyev, therefore, cannot declare the elections in their respective districts.

«Neither of these two rulings to date have not received the CEC, accordingly, grounds for mid-term elections of people’s deputies of Ukraine in districts # 27 and 206 of the CEC at this point, no,» said the Chairman of the Central election Commission Mikhail stations at a press briefing on Thursday 4 February in Kiev, transfers «Interfax-Ukraine».

He noted that according to available information, the resolution on termination of powers of deputies and Filatov Atroshenko have so far not signed by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada.

The CEC head also said that the Commission may not appoint elections in district No. 23, which has no representation in Parliament after the death of the MP Eremeeva, until I get the official legal confirmation of his death.

Okhendovsky noted that such a document may come from the Verkhovna Rada or any third party. Answering a question of journalists, he noted that if such a certificate is, in the apparatus of the Verkhovna Rada, the Parliament could send it to the CEC.

Thus Okhendovsky noted that the CEC traditionally, such issues have never been addressed and does not consider it appropriate for ethical reasons. In addition, the head of the Central electoral Committee has noticed that the law does not oblige the CEC to seek such a document, and the Verkhovna Rada to pass relevant document.
