The largest Ukrainian international airport «Borispol» is in talks with several airlines in the redistribution of transit traffic in the direction of the Russian Federation in connection with the termination of air communication between Ukraine and Russia since October, 25th. On 3 November 2015, reported the press service of the airport with reference to the acting Director of the airport «Borispol» Evgenia Digne.
«Our citizens who has travelled through Russia to far-abroad countries, without additional inconvenience to them will refocus on the European hubs. Now this deals with a number of airlines», — the press service quoted Digne.
It is also reported that despite the introduction of bilateral Ukrainian-Russian aviataksi, the airport «Borispol» in October, passenger traffic increased by 18.6% to 664,7 thousand people.
In January-September this year compared with the same period of 2014 «Borispol» has increased passenger numbers by 5% to 5,583 million people. By the end of 2014, the airport passenger traffic has reduced by 13% to 6.9 million people. In the first half of 2015 the company received 214 million USD profit compared with the $ 116 million UAH of loss for the same period in 2014.

Gosaviasluzhba of Ukraine on 1 October sent in Federal Agency of air transport of the Russian Federation (Rosaviatsia) a letter demanding to explain the reasons for the introduction of the Russian party of sanctions against Ukrainian airlines, as well as to clarify the number placed under them Ukrainian carriers.
However, as draws the attention of the Ukrainian side, conducting any negotiations on the abolition of bilateral aviataksi and the resumption of air links between Ukraine and Russia is possible only under condition of payment of the fine Russian airlines for performing flights to the occupied Crimea and the cessation of flights in this direction.
