The fugitive ex-Premier Mykola Azarov has promised to return to Ukrainian politics and offer to return the previous convocation of the Verkhovna Rada. He stated this at a press conference in Moscow on Thursday, 25 February, reports TASS.
«I will definitely return to Ukraine. I’m here (in Moscow) — the former Prime Minister, but I am not a former Ukrainian politician», — Azarov thinks.
He stated that he sees no reason to pursue him in Ukraine.
«I don’t have and don’t have any assets. Tell me, where are they… They were frozen and continue to freeze the air», — said Azarov.
To mark its future place in Ukrainian politics Azarov failed, saying only that «not dying». But noted that he already has a plan «to save Ukraine».
«Ukraine must be saved, the question is how. After the coup, all opposition forces were stripped. Many have left or are in prison,» said Azarov.
In his opinion, the only legitimate authority in Ukraine is the Verkhovna Rada of the seventh convocation.
«We need to restore the powers of the Verkhovna Rada of the seventh convocation», — said Azarov.
We will remind, Azarov declared wanted by Ukraine and the EU and USA included in the sanctions lists.
The new convocation of the Verkhovna Rada was elected in October 2014 in an election that the international community has recognized the democratic and transparent.
