Australia because trump may reconsider a military Alliance with the United States

Secretary of the Ministry of defence of Australia (a non-political head of the Department) Dennis Richardson believes that winning Donald trump makes a closer look at the collective security Treaty between the United States, Australia and New Zealand (ANZUS). This was reported by broadcaster ABC.

«This Alliance Australian society takes for granted, but it’s not… the Last US presidential election had a strong influence on our domestic policies… We make a great mistake if we allow the Alliance to be held hostage by one administration, or one person,» said Richardson during a speech before military and diplomats in Canberra.

Commenting on the sharp pre-election trump statements about tough policy in relation to certain US allies in Europe and Asia, Richardson noted that the comments of Mr. trump’s need to be perceived in a historical context.

«The President-elect trump is not the first American leader who urged allies to do more,» he said.

However, the statement by the Australian Minister gave a new impetus to discussions about the necessity of revision of relations with the United States that have recently initiated the opposition.

Earlier newly elected President of the United States announced its plans for the first 100 days of presidency.
