The winner of the 45th international film festival Rotterdam, the film by Iranian Director Babak Jalali«Radiometry».
Painting depicting the work of the Iranian émigré radio station in San Francisco, won the main prize of the festival — «Tiger».
The film Paraguayan Director Pablo Lamar «Last earth» won the special prize of the festival: the Paraguayan received it for outstanding achievements in sound editing. A film about how the old farmer sees off in the last journey of his wife, filmed without a single dialogue and one actor.
Audience award and youth jury received Danish painting «Mined the land» about how in 1945, about 2,000 German prisoners of war were forced to eliminate mine fields in Denmark.
After the change of leadership in the festival competition program included 8 films instead of 15. In addition to the main competition at the Rotterdam film festival there are several parallel programs such as «Bright future», «Voice», «Prospects», «Deep focus».
Also presented to the Dutch viewers a new Ukrainian film Director living in Germany, Sergey Loznitsa. His documentary «the Event» tells about a few days in Leningrad during the August 1991 coup.
Rotterdam film festival is one of the world’s most prestigious film festivals along with Cannes, Berlin, Venice and Locarno. The festival focuses on auteur, non-commercial cinema. In the framework of the 45th show was shown around 600 films.
Note, the documentary «Mariopolis» Director mantas of Kvedaravicius will participate in the Berlin international film festival, which will take place from 11 to 21 February 2016.
