In the corrupt schemes of the former President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych and members of his «family» involved approximately 75 Ukrainian companies. About it analyst at Transparency International Yevhen Cherniak said Radio Liberty.

«The schemes were not Yanukovych himself, and his associates and family members. Here be attended by approximately 75 Ukrainian companies, 51 companies are located in foreign jurisdictions, including in offshore zones: Panama, great Britain, Austria, Switzerland, Cyprus. And about 20 individuals that are key. That is the scale of the schemes is so great that they are not so easy to understand and handle. The more our law enforcement officers,» said Chernyak.

According to the analyst, the investigation of these crimes can last for several years.

On February 23 the international organization Transparency International urged the European Union to restore and strengthen sanctions against former Ukrainian officials. In addition, the organization urged the Russian authorities to cooperate with Ukrainian in punishing Yanukovych.

Also earlier in Transparency International called Yanukovych the leader in the ranking of the largest corruption of the world.

Against Yanukovych and 16 other officials were, the EU sanctions because of suspicions of misappropriation of public funds and the violation of human rights. The European sanctions list for actions against territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine made 149 people and 37 companies.
