Almost half of Ukrainians considers the fight against corruption in the country is completely failure – poll

The majority of Ukrainian citizens do not consider the successful fight against corruption in the country. This is evidenced by the results of a public opinion poll conducted in December 2017 the Fund «Democratic initiatives» name Ilka Kucheriv jointly with the sociological service of the Razumkov Center.

After the question «How successful, in your opinion, the fight against corruption in Ukraine?» 46,1% of the respondents chose the answer: «Completely disastrous». Another 33.5 percent agreed that «Mostly unsuccessful, but there are some success».

Option «Mostly successful, but there are many unsolved problems» scored 12.2 percent «Fully successful» – 2,5%.

According to the respondents (could select multiple answers), most actively with Ukrainian corruption fighting media (25,6%), the National anti-corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU, 23.9%) and public organizations (20.6 per cent).

In this version of «almost no one at all» was chosen by 35.3% of respondents.

The study was conducted from 15 to 19 December, the Ukrainian government-controlled territory. Interviewed 2004 respondents over the age of 18 years. Theoretical sampling error does not exceed 2.3%.

In 2017, Ukraine is ranked 131 th position in a structured Transparency International rating of «corruption perception Index».
