All trains in the Netherlands was transferred to the wind energy

From 2017 all trains in the Netherlands translated into the energy consumption produced by wind stations. This was announced by the Dutch railway group NS, describing the complete transition to renewable energy, an unprecedented success, «Interfax».

Transition rail at the wind energy was preceded by an agreement between the company and NS power Corporation Eneco. Signed in 2015, the agreement involves the transfer of all trains of the country on wind energy by the beginning of 2018.

«We managed to achieve the target a year earlier,» – stated the press Secretary NS the tone of the boon.

Energy produced by one wind power station in an hour, enough to train has moved a distance of 200 km, said in a joint statement NS and Eneco. Now companies strive to ensure that by 2020 to reduce by a third the consumption of energy for each passenger-kilometer without.

Note that in June 2011 in Europe has launched the first train on solar energy. The first «green» train has started to ply on the route Paris – Amsterdam.
