In the city of Volokolamsk, Moscow region, where the garbage landfill «Sound» emitting gas, local residents began to issue respirators and masks. About it reported in regional management of the Ministry , «Interfax».

The interlocutor of Agency has told that in the city from March 30 introduced the mode of increased readiness.

Local residents have already issued the first batch of personal protection equipment and getting ready to buy another batch of respirators. In the framework of the mode of increased readiness at the local landfill has restricted the importation of garbage.

Schools in the city work in a regular mode. In the management of education of administration of the municipality said that the Agency had not yet received respirators for distribution in educational institutions.

March 21 at the garbage landfill «Sound» near the Russian Volokolamsk there was a release of hydrogen sulfide. The local education Department with this incident linked the poisoning of three dozen students of local school №2.

Volokolamsk is located 98 km to the West from Moscow. The city’s population in 2017 accounted for more than 20 thousand people.
