Activists: the Ministry of justice does not give information about the candidates for the office of the chief individual responsible

From 17 to 19 January, the justice Ministry will choose the new Director of the Department of questions of lustration, however, the Ministry refused to provide detailed information about the candidates. This was announced by the Chairman of the Board of the NGO «Public lustration Committee» Sasha Drik blog «Ukrainian truth».

According to her, in the Commission for selection did not include any representative of the public, and will not be online broadcast of the contest.

Drik said that when at the end of last year resigned as the first Director of the Department of questions of lustration Tatiana Kozachenko, she suggested instead Anna Kalinchuk. On 22 November the Minister of justice Pavel Petrenko publicly supported the candidacy Kalinchuk. However, she was never appointed acting Director.

«The documents on her appointment, refused to sign the chief of staff of the Ministry, Deputy Minister Anna Onishchenko, arguing that the «negative resonance in the media and society.» The media then discussed whether there is enough experience in the 23-year-old Kalinchuk, which, recall, was working with Tatiana Kozachenko all two years of her tenure as Director of the Department and was supported by the staff of the Department for the appointment of an interim Director before conducting a full-fledged competition for the position,» wrote Drik.

According to Drik, the failure to schedule Kalinchuk for the post looks strange, as her candidacy was supported by Petrenko. Perhaps this is «planned action in order to put the position the right person», which indicates the opacity of the contest.

We will remind, on January 10, the Ministry of justice website has a list of candidates for the position of chief Giotto.

«Search by name (and this is the only information available about the candidates) in public sources has found that among 12 candidates are: assistant judge, the assistant Deputy, tax collector, two policemen, a lawyer who publicly criticized the lustration, a few people who were able to identify only as candidates for positions in other newly created bodies, and one representative of the Department,» — said Drik.

She stressed that this information may not be completely accurate, since among their likely namesake, and the Ministry of justice refuses to provide documents — even at the request of the Public Council on lustration.

«As a result, we essentially do not know who these people are that from 17 to 19 January will take part in a competition for the position of «main message» from the state», — said Drik.

«We are required to publish information about candidates for the positions to which access cannot be limited in accordance with the law. We demand to provide online broadcast of all stages of the competition. We want to involve representatives of Public Council to the Commission to ensure public control over the conduct of the competition», — stated in the message.
