The international Association of athletics federations (IAAF) has received from the world anti-doping Agency (WADA) about 200 names of Russian athletes suspected of violating anti-doping rules.
«The IAAF was sent the names of about 200 Russians by the Independent Commission WADA under the leadership of Richard McLaren, reports Segodnya.
On the basis of information and evidence from the report of McLaren, as well as other information will be taken when considering applications athletes who wish to gain access to international competitions as a neutral,» – said in a press release IAAF.
One of the criteria for individual access to international competition demands from the Russians to show that they were not directly involved in any anti-doping violations due to the activities of the national Federation.
As other criteria are called the involvement of coaches, doctors and other professionals working with the athlete, to commit any anti-doping rule violations, as well as the amount handed athlete doping tests during the relevant period.
Earlier today it was reported that the President of the International sports press Association (AIPS) Gianni Merlo wrote an open letter to the President of the International Association of athletics federations (IAAF) , Sebastian CoE, in which he urged the Association to reset all world records. According to Merlot, reset of records will allow to give new hope to young athletes that they will be able to enter the history of the sport without doping.
