NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg claims that Abkhazia and South Ossetia are part of Georgia and urged Russia to withdraw recognition of their «independent States». This statement he made on Thursday, 8 October 2015, in Brussels (Kingdom of Belgium) after the meeting of the Commission Georgia-the NATO, UNIAN reports.
«The territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia must be respected within its internationally recognized borders. We continue to urge Russia to withdraw the recognition of the Georgian regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetia as independent States. Russia cannot change the reality of international law. Abkhazia and South Ossetia are part of Georgia», — said Stoltenberg.
According to him, relations between NATO and Georgia «are on the right track, and Georgia — on the right track.»
«Today we welcomed the progress made but still much to do. We need to see more progress in key areas, particularly in the area of rule of law and the independence of the judiciary. NATO supports Georgian Euro-Atlantic aspirations», — said the NATO Secretary General.
As announced on 8 October, the international criminal court (ICC) in the Hague (the Netherlands), the pre-trial Chamber is ready to begin investigation of the events of the Russian-Georgian war of 2008 («Five-day war»). The formal pretext for military invasion of the Russian Federation on the territory of sovereign Georgia official Moscow was then called the need to «protect» the so-called «Russian peacekeepers», whose base was in Tskhinvali (South Ossetia). The war in Georgia Putin’s propaganda called «the war in South Ossetia».
As for Abkhazia, it occupied the Russian-terrorist troops in the hybrid of the armed conflict of 1992-1993. On Georgia’s side fought against Ukrainian expeditionary force «Argo» Dmitry Korchynsky, formed from members of the UNA-UNSO. 8 uncovsky volunteers have received certificates of honorary citizen of Georgia. By the decree of the President of Georgia 14 volunteers UNSO awarded the order of Vakhtang Gorgasali — award for military valor, 7 of them — posthumously.
Except the Russian Federation «state independence» of Abkhazia and South Ossetia «declared» rogue States Venezuela, Nicaragua and tiny island country of Nauru.
Abkhazia and South Ossetia are part of Georgia. Russia should take back recognition of their «independent States» — the Secretary General of NATO 08.10.2015
