A suspect in arranging the supply of cocaine through the Embassy of the Russian Federation spoke about his connection with the secret services

The alleged organizer of the cocaine supply through the Embassy of Russia in Argentina to Russia Andrei Kovalchuk called himself a person close to power structures, writes the Republic, citing two knowledgeable source.

The interlocutor of the edition told that Kovalchuk was often on the territory of the Russian Embassy in Buenos Aires and were free to visit, although not working in a diplomatic mission. Before coming to Argentina Kovalchuk met with another defendant in the case – Ali Abyanova.

Source Republic said that Abanov performed technical tasks in the structure of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and for several years was engaged in repair at the German Embassy in Moscow, where at the same time worked Kovalchuk.

In a publication includes the materials of the case, according to which the former General Director of LLC «Center of legal services» Vladimir Kalmykov, a former Manager of the Moscow company Istimer Khudzhamov and unemployed of Abijanov was detained in Russia on 13 December 2017.

14 December 2017, the Tver court arrested them for two months in the case of the production, sale or shipment of narcotics in especially large size. According to the Republic, all the defendants deny their guilt and called the charges a provocation, while the Kalmyks is cooperating with the investigation.

Kalmykov and Khudzhamov told the court that waited from Argentina a cargo of coffee, not cocaine.

About the criminal case on the international drug trade, involving Russian diplomats, it became known on February 22. The investigation began in December 2016, when the Russian Ambassador in Argentina Victor koronelli found 12 suitcases with the drug in the building of the Embassy school.
