A referendum in Kurdistan. According to preliminary data, more than 90% of voters supported the region’s independence

The results of calculating 9% of the ballots, 93,29% of participants of a referendum in Iraqi Kurdistan supported the independence of the region. About it reports TV channel Rudaw.

The referendum was attended by 3.3 million voters, the turnout was 72,16%, have informed in electoral Committee.

In the vote on September 25 was attended by residents of the provinces of Erbil, Sulaymaniyah and Dohuk, as well as some areas outside the Kurdish Autonomous region.

The organizers of the referendum believe that the results of the plebiscite will give the autonomy to the mandate for negotiations with Iraq and neighboring countries about the establishment of the state.

Iraq, Iran and Turkey do not recognize the referendum.
