Supreme court of Zimbabwe referred to the legitimate actions of the military, who by force ousted ex-President Robert Mugabe. About it reports TV channel ABC.

The court also called illegal the dismissal of Vice-President Emmerson of Mnangagwa. 24 Nov Mnangagwa was sworn in as the new President of Zimbabwe.

The TV channel notes that lawyers consider the court decision as a precedent for «effective legalization of the military intervention in the Affairs of government.»

15 November, the military announced the seizure of power in Zimbabwe and the arrest of 93-year-old Mugabe, who has ruled the country for 37 years. However, they stated that their actions cannot be regarded as a military coup.

Prior to that, African News Agency wrote that Robert Mugabe was negotiating with the military and allegedly agreed to resign, if his wife be released abroad.

November 18, Reuters reported that the party «Zimbabwe African national Union – Patriotic front» plans to send the President to resign. 19 Nov Mugabe was deprived of his post as head of the ruling party of the country.

November 20, Mugabe agreed to resign provided immunity from prosecution for himself and his wife grace. On 21 November he announced his resignation.
