More than a quarter of Russians recognize the fact of invasion of Russian troops on the Eastern Ukraine, more than 80% continue to support the annexation of Crimea.
This is stated in a sociological survey of the Levada Centre, which is at the disposal of the UNIAN.
So, answering the question whether there is now Russian troops into Ukraine, 27% answered «Yes» 52% «no», 21% — difficult to answer.
In addition, 25% of respondents agreed with the opinion that between Ukraine and Russia at war, 65 percent take the opposite view and 11% were undecided.
Meanwhile, 65% of respondents said the situation in Eastern Ukraine «tense», 14% critical and explosive, 10% — good, and 2% wealthy, 9% — difficult to answer.
The survey also showed that 44% of respondents believe that the situation in Eastern Ukraine in the coming year will remain unchanged, 13% will improve 27% will get worse and 16% were undecided.
The results of the survey show that 83% of Russians still support the annexation of the Crimea, do not support the seizure of the Ukrainian Peninsula is only 13%, 4% — difficult to answer.
While 61% believe that the annexation of Crimea has brought Russia «more useful» and 20% «more damage» and 19% found it difficult to answer.
Answering the question about the relations between the two countries, 32% said – «Russia’s relations with Ukraine should be the same as with other States – with closed borders, visas and customs», 52% — «Russia and Ukraine must be independent but friendly States – with open borders, without visas and customs», 11% — «Russia and Ukraine should unite into one state», 5% — difficult to answer.
The poll was conducted from 22 – 25 January 2016 by all Russia representative sample of urban and rural population 1600/800 among persons aged 18 years and older in 137 localities 48 regions of the country. The research is conducted at the respondents ‘ homes by means of personal interview. The distribution of answers is given in percent of the total number of respondents together with data from previous surveys. The statistical error of the data of these researches doesn’t exceed 3,4%/4,1%.
Earlier sociologists «Levada-Center» reported that fewer people approve of Russia’s occupation of Crimea, and the vast majority opposed to a part of Russia became the Ukrainian Donbass.
